SkillSelect is an immigration program offered for candidates wanting to move to Australia. It helps to match skilled international workers with employers in Australia. If you are going to migrate to Australia for work purposes, as a skilled worker or a business person, you will need a Skillselect to make an expression of interest. It will match you to your employers based on your skills and knowledge.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is a way to express your desire to apply for a skilled visa to migrate to Australia. The expression of interest (EOI) form is a critical component of applying for certain Australian work visas.
If you want to work in Australia, you should learn about the Expression of Interest for Australian Immigration. Never submit an Expression of Interest until you have completed an assessment. The assessment determines whether you are eligible to live and work in Australia.
It’s an online form in SkillSelect that asks a series of questions about your skills based on the visa subclass you choose.
SkillSelect Overview:
If an employer or state or territory government agency wants to be considered for a sponsored skilled visa, SkillSelect can be used to determine the candidate’s capacity to pass the points test for specific visas.
SkillSelect allows you to submit the following types of applications:
- Skilled Independent Subclass 189 Visa
- Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa
- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 Visa
- Business Talent Subclass 132 Visa
- Business Innovation & Investment subclass 188 Visa.
Your completed EOI is saved in SkillSelect and is good for two years after completion. While incomplete EOIs will also be kept on file for a period of two years, they will not be considered for invitations.
You always have access to your EOI and can update your data whenever you want. If your circumstances change, it is your responsibility to access your EOI and update your information. If you are invited to submit a visa application, it will be too late to update your EOI.
Update your EOI in the following cases:
- Your family composition has changed,
- You have acquired new work experience,
- You have acquired a higher degree,
- You have improved your English language skills.
These adjustments may raise your ranking and impact your point total. It is your responsibility to make sure that nothing on your EOI is inaccurate, false, or misleading. Your application may be rejected if the information you provide on your EOI is inaccurate, false, or misleading.
Your EOI will no longer be displayed on Skillselect:
if you are invited twice and don’t submit an application for a visa in response to either invitation or if you are invited to submit an application for a temporary or permanent visa and are subsequently granted that visa.
