Australia PR Requirements for International Students

After completing one’s studies in Australia, students may consider living in this beautiful nation. But how do you do it? That is a question that every international student has. By completing some Australia PR criteria, one could easily obtain residency visa in Australia.

Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa

The point-based visa for those who do not require nomination or sponsorship. You can apply for the Subclass 189 visa if you graduated as an international student in Australia and do not have any employer sponsorship.

Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated Visa

  • This route is for skilled professionals and international students who have been nominated by a regional or state government agency. Under the Skilled Occupation List, they must demonstrate sufficient skill assessments for the occupation.

Subclass 491 Skilled Regional Visa

You must obtain sponsorship, complete skill requirements, or be nominated by an Australian area, state, or territory to be eligible for this visa.

Eligibility Requirements for Work Stream Pathways

  •  You must be between the ages of 18 and 45 to apply for Australian migration.
  • Meet minimum English Language Proficiency.
  •  Meet qualification degree (diploma, bachelor degree, master degree or doctorate).
  • Working experience in a nominated professional occupation either overseas or in Australia.
  • Academic course in Australia at least 2 years.
  • Must Complete government-authorized Professional Year Program in Australia
  • If applying for a 190 or 491 visa, the applicant must be recommended or sponsored by an Australian territory or state.
  • Complete the skills assessment for the nominated occupation with the authorized assessing authority.
  • Temporary Graduate Visa Subclass 485: If you do not meet Australia’s permanent residency standards, you can apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa and then seek for permanent residency later. International students who meet the requirements can reside and work in Australia for two years after completing their education.

Australia PR Requirements Process for International Students

  • Skill Assessment: The Applicant must send their qualifications and experience to the skill assessment authority for evaluation if they meet the eligibility requirements.
  • EOI (Expression of Interest): Following the assessment, the Applicant must submit an EOI application with an eligibility score. The higher the score, the more likely you are to receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply).
  • Character and Medical Certificates:Submit your character and medical certification to the Australian Immigration Department once you’ve received your ITA.
  • Visa Approval:The Australian Department of Home Affairs will completely analyze your profile after you have submitted all of your paperwork and will award you the visa.
